When we said the completion of the renovation exercise would mark the beginning of a brand new five star experience, we were not joking. Remember the Transcorp Hilton Abuja just won a Seven Star Award for Leading African Business Hotel? We haven’t forgotten either. The bar has been raised and this renovation has one goal…surpass it. Here are a few pictures of our Five Star work-in-progress.
The Transcorp Hilton hotel will be selling used items as part of its renovation process. This presents an opportunity for bulk buyers to pick up high quality and durable equipment including electronics, furniture, fixtures etc. for a competitive price. These items are not being replaced because they are defective. They are simply being replaced to make room for more current designs acquired for the renovation project.
We therefore invite all interested bulk buyers to participate in the process. Bidders will be required to bid for one or more of the following categories of items:
Category 1: Furniture items (all wooden and Upholstery items)
Category 2: Sanitary Ware items (all bathroom fixtures and accessories)
Category 3: Electronics and Electrical Equipment
Category 4: Other items, e.g. curtains, paintings, waste bins etc.
Note: Bidding for a category means purchase of ALL items in that category.
Interested bidders shall be pre-qualified based on submission of:
Expression of interest (EOI) letter stating category/categories of interest.
Verifiable evidence of financial support from a reputable bank.
Payment of a non-refundable bid processing fee of N50,000.00 (Fifty Thousand Naira) only.
Payment of a bid bond of N10,000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) only, refundable upon completion of the bid process.
Both payments are to be made separately by Bank Draft, payable to Transcorp Hotels Plc. The Bidder’s name and telephone number should be clearly written on the back of each Bank Draft. The Bank Drafts are to be placed in a sealed envelope and delivered to:

Items successfully bid for must be removed from the warehouse within 48 hours of notification and upon full reciept of payment.

Email of the scans and physical submission of the Bank Drafts must be done on or before close of business on July 29, 2016.
As part of the renovation process, we will be conducting a test this Saturday on Guests Floors only. The test will entail switching off electricity for 3-hrs on each Floor. During those 3 hours, the lights, the power sockets and the air conditioners will be affected in the bedroom and corridor of the guest floors, however, water will still be running and lifts will still be working.
There will be power on the public floors 01 & 02 and public areas like the Lobby and Outlets.
All our guests have been informed ahead of time. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and are inviting our guests to the Piano Lounge for a free drink and snack during the period their particular Floor is impacted as follows:
Floors 9-10 – 09:00 until 12:00noon
Floors 1 to 4 – 11:00 until 14:00
Floors 5 to 8 – 14:00 until 17:00

“The upgrade is the first of its kind in the 30-year history of the hotel and it underpins our commitment to delivering an experience that cannot be duplicated by any other hotel. When the renovation is completed, the iconic Transcorp Hilton Abuja will offer guests a brand new and ultramodern furnishing concept to rival other five-star hotels worldwide.
All 670 guest rooms and suites have been redesigned by award-winning Swedish interior design company, Living Design, who has added an extra touch of luxury to the exquisite finish and furnishing. The complete renovation, when finalised, will include refurbishing of the Executive Lounge, elevators and elevator lobbies, meeting rooms, Congress Hall and the hotel lobby. The spa and restaurants will also be upgraded to reflect the standards of the modern traveller with high expectations.
The hotel will remain open during the renovation. Disruptions will be minimal, as no more than three floors will be closed at any given time. Selected services and facilities are to be relocated in order to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction, as the hotel remains operational and committed to exceeding expectations during the improvement period.

The full renovation will be completed in 18 months.
